Hi, my name is Samantha Freske

I’m a mixed media artist primarily working with paint and illustration, with photography as a complementary practice. Born and raised in a small, unsuspecting farm town in the middle of nowhere in northern Michigan. My love for creating art has been apparent ever since I could pick up a pencil. It wasn't after my battle with cancer back in 2018 that I really found the fuel to keep creating. Which really pushed me to keep pursuing life. Finding that art has the incredible power to connect and inspire.

In my work, I strive to create stories. Stories that not only reflect on myself but also reflect on the viewer. I aim to create visual spaces that feel intimate and bring people together.

I can’t always control where my inspiration comes from, which I find leaves the door for creativity wide open. I’m always challenging my boundaries and spanning into a variety of styles. My work has been described as vibrant, surrealistic, and expressive.

When I'm not working in my studio or up on a lift, I can be found lounging with my cat or out on a run.
